Marble Arch Caves - Journey Underground
The Marble Arch Caves are among Europe's finest show caves, formed over millions of years as underground rivers carved through limestone hills. Part of the UNESCO Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark, this is a geological wonderland where visitors can explore by boat and on foot through chambers adorned with stalactites, stalagmites, and flowing formations.
The caves were first properly explored in 1895 by Edouard Martel and Lyster Jameson, though local farmers had long known of the underground waters emerging at the dramatic Marble Arch itself.
